There was an Information Literacy (IL) Week in Second Life (SL) 9-15 November 2009.

This date tied in with the original proposed US National Information Literacy month (see http://www.infolit.org/news/campaign.html)  The IL awareness month in the USA in October 2009

There was a meeting on the 10 June 2009 in which it was agreed that this was a good idea. The chatlog of that is here http://sleeds.org/chatlog/?c=437 and you will see that people already came up with some ideas. Sheila Yoshikawa (Sheila Webber in SL) led the initiative. A further meeting refined the idea.

The event was endorsed by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Information Literacy section.
